DESCRIPTION
DescriptionFrom early 1925 Mount Isa Mines had a small wood fired power station. During the construction period, 1929 to 1931, electricity and compressed air was required. Two additional coal fired "travelling grate" boilers were added as well as these National Gas heavy oil generator units. When the Mine Power Station was completed and commissioned on the 6th December 1930 this temporary power station was decommissioned.
