Description10/5/34 a N-S crack was observed out in the Black Star Lode's hangingwall some 175ft. directly west from rim of No. 6 Glory Hole. Its length when 1st discovered was 100ft. 15/6/34 its length had increased to 155ft. This is referred to as No 1 Crack.
On the latter day a 185ft. N-S crack developed 10ft. east of the first, overlapping its north half and extrending north-ward another 120ft, giving a total inclusive length for both cracks of 275ft. This is referred to No. 2 Crack. At n place did the width of either crack exceed 1/2in.
No further cracks developed at this time, either along the line in question, or between it and the Glory Hole rim. The only concern was that the southernmost crack was striking towards Davidson Shaft, 340ft. distant.
8/8/34 No. 1 Crack lengthened 105ft. to the south, and 85ft. to the north, total length now 345ft. At its north end it joined No. 2 Crack 35ft from the latters north end.
