DescriptionA crib room was an clean area set aside for miners to have their meals. A water trough and taps s for hand washing can be seen. The small suitcases (ports) were used to carry the meals and were called crib ports. The term crib appears to have come from Cornish Mining where they played a card game called Cribbage at meal breaks.RightsPublic DomainCollectionReginald O'BrienSubjectMiningMining Sites
