Description150kW generator set for the main winder motor on the Man and Suply winder. This winder used DC motor that was capable of variable speed. This was achieved by a small change in the output of the "exciter". the small generator on the right. The output from the exciter was fed into the main generator. This varied the output of the large generator which then fed into the motor. This variation changed the speed of the winder.
