DescriptionMrs Venetia Maude Holley was the second woman who arrived in Mount Isa with her husband on 6 January, 1924.

The Holley family made local history on 26 July, 1926, when they presented Mount Isa with the first baby born here. (Daughter Sylvia)

Mrs Holley was the first to supply Mount Isa with bread which she baked herself. Her supplies were brought up from Duchess and she got her water from soaks she herself made in the river bed.

For the work she did in raising funds for the local hospital she was made Life Governor. Mrs Holley was one of the foundation members of the Mount Isa
